Technology used

Javascript/DHTML for the news-image to be moveable the DHTML library made by Walter Zorn was used. This library has been published under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL).

PHP & GD-Library to generate the pictures for use on homepages and blogs, PHP's GD-library is used.

PHP & MySQL the picture-requests are stored in a database. With this information hitlists or RSS-newsfeeds can be generated and it is possible to blacklist unsuitable images.

XMLHttp (Ajax) to check if the server will be able to access the given picture without having to reload the page.

Known problems

Image errors in Safari on Mac OS X
We recommend to use Firefox on Macintosh computers.

Animated Gifs
Animated Gifs cannot be processed by the GD-library. Only the first picture of animated Gif will be used.
